40K League: Rules of engagement

1: League Pairings

Each player will be assigned a partner who they will be with for the entirety of the league.

The pairings are as follows:
  1. Leo Hutchins (Marines) & Aidan Hague(T’au)
  2. Alex Roustbourne(Grey Knights/Guard) & Ben Gerhard-Jones (Eldar)
  3. Nathan Searle (T’au) & Tommy Forsgate (Chaos)
  4. Olie Thomas (Knights/Guard) & Rhys Knight (Orks)
  5. Chris Chapman (Chaos)  & Max Deeley (Dark Angels)
  6. Nicky Whitcraft (Knights/Marines) & David Hing (Guard)

2: points limit

You will each have 500 points to spend to make a conjoined force with you partner. These 500 points will then be increased to 1000 and then to 1,500 (possibly 2,000 depending on the length of the league)

3: Command point and detachment limits

All command points earned by each player are shared between both players in a pair. Each player will be awarded 3 command points if their army is battle forged.
As the point limit increases so will the number of detachments you are allowed. At 500, a maximum of 1 detachment may be taken and at 1,000 a maximum of 2 detachments may be taken. At 2,000, a maximum of three detachments may be taken.

4: army requirements

Each force must be battle forged. Once a unit has been chosen for your army it must stay in it but you may change the number of models and wargear in that unit. You may not take under strength units. 

5: league points

League points will be rewarded by wins, losses and draws as well as extra points mentioned below. Each team will be awarded:
  • Win = 5 points
  • Draw = 1 point
  • Loss = 0 points

Any misunderstandings about points should be bought up with Leo or a member of ibuywargames staff. (A dice roll won’t be enough for this one!)

6: bonus points

Bonus points will be awarded per pair and not per player and will be given out at the end of the league. These will include:
  • Best sportsman
  • Best painted
  • Best strategic play
  • Worst strategic play
  • The pair that worked best together no matter how well they did in the league
